The parallel session "Safeguarding the Diversity of Asian Civilizations" is co-organized by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The session aims to explore Asian values, concepts and cultural heritage from both the individual and collective perspectives.
The session will demonstrate the profound significance and implication of mutual learning and exchanges among civilizations, promote the diversity of the Asian civilizations, and forge international consensus on promoting intercultural dialogue and building a community of a shared future for mankind.
Participants of the session include permanent representatives and ambassadors of Asian countries to UNESCO, senior officials from the UNESCO headquarters and its field offices in Asia, presidents of Asian universities and renowned scholars from China and the world.
A series of salons will be held in Peking University, Tsinghua University and other prestigious Chinese universities.
